One Step at a Time

Before I sat down to write today I was clear about what I was going to write, after all I learn something new every single day as part of my morning ritual. However, finally when I began tapping the keyboard my thoughts got all muddled up and I lost my trail of thinking. So, I’m going into about five (5) minutes of mindfulness.

And I’m back. This exercise has helped me calm down and come back to the present. I did a simple exercise, just closed my eyes and focused on listening to the five (5) different sounds around me. Try it for yourself.

Now, the only thought in my head is the Ukraine-Russia crisis. I am part of a group of healers who practice Reiki so I will join them in sending collective healing to the situation. I totally believe that collective consciousness has the power to cause a shift.

Seeing one of the world leaders take such a stance only reiterates the fact that we must train our upcoming future generation for positive education if we do not want such events to repeat. Yes, the change will take time but it will be worth all the wait when it finally happens.

Each one of us must take responsibility for changing the future of leadership. So, the change will have to begin with us. Dr. Shawn Ginwright’s latest book ‘The Four Pivots: Reimagining Justice, Reimagining Ourselves’ explains how and why you cannot change the world unless you do the work yourself. Look in the mirror and reflect! Here is a link to his talk with Brene Brown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59Xey6XYUco

One step at a time and we will get there!
